About Me

My photo
Goddard, KS, United States
I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

Remembering...

I was going to save this post until July 27 ~ This is the date my Grandpa Peeka (Coslett) went to live with Jesus! I can now smile and have such *beautiful* memories of this wonderful man. The pain and tears are still there, but I have such a wonderful love and memory of him that hasn't faded even a little....
I decided to go ahead and post about him today because my three year old unknowingly brought me to tears this evening. Curtis was up in his room playing and carrying on a conversation with someone. Upon entering his room to put his laundry away I asked him who he was talking to? His reply, "An Angel!" ~ Oh I said smiling~ put his cloths away and went to walk out, with my back to him he then says, "Yea he says that he likes firetrucks and that he loves you Mommy...." I stopped there in the middle of his door frame as tears filled my eyes I was speechless...... As I recomposed my thoughts without turning to Curtis I simply replied, "Hey Curtis, tell him I love him too!"

Hubby Bragging

I have so very proud of Brett!! He has been *hard-core* on a diet since January and has lost almost 100 pounds!! He counts his calories and goes to the Y every other night (more if possible)! I see him everyday and had of course noticed (*believe me*) but hadn't really noticed until looking through pictures from last Summer!!

Brett July 2010
*Am excited to see how much hotter he looks next summer* (although he's always been to me)

One more week...

Well One more FULL week of the cast =) That makes everyone in this house VERY VERY happy!! Yesterday she started saying "done please" and pulling at her cast! She has done exceptionally well, but we are very ready for it to come off. Her blisters have almost gone away on her finger, but we are not watching blisters on her lower forearm. (one more full week)..
***
As much as I'm ready for the cast to come off, I am not wanting to wish away summer either. Two more full weeks before my summer of 'officially' over. I am very ready to be done with the classes teaching elementary social studies, reading, and math.. however next semester looks as if it will have a new set of challenges. I know that anything worth having is worth working for so I guess I'm ready!

More Summer

**love love love** it when I show up to the pool and there is entertainment there =)
My children are very blessed with cousins!
Curtis and Allyson
Abby and Cadence
(mommy arms were Thankful for the break)
Jumping-in may be Curt's favorite activity at the pool...
Even better when he has a jumping buddy!
Allyson was teaching him to do the twist, cannon balls, and many other 'fancy' jumps =)

*love summer*

Our Newest Member..

I AM a dog person
I am NOT a big dog person!
Well I wasn't (still not 100% sold) until Brett asked to bring this dog home!
We are not sure what she is, but she had been hanging around their shop for a little
over a month now. She was very skittish around humans at first. Brett said the other day she was running down Meridian, and was almost hit SO we decided to give her a home..
Meet Ella
(our OUTSIDE dog)
Curtis and Cadence LOVE her! She is as talk as Cadie, so they had to wait on the back porch while Daddy had her on a leash to meet our inside dogs..

This is just because she's *beautiful*

Emma, Eddie, and Ella
They are actually getting along really well!
Think I might like having a big dog in the backyard!

curtis and levi
cadie has been REALLY sad to watch curtis leave for the pool (a-poo, in cadie lingo)
the coupe days he has been able to go with someone else
so i did some calling around and the aqua armor was my only find
that was with in budget (although grandma carol got it, thanks) this is supposed
to be seal around the arm and keep her cast dry
**
First thought, okay i can do this...
**
OR NOT
**
she was not crazy about the blue ring, although she did finally decide to just deal with it and get in

tonight was the FIRST night we have all been over to my grandma's pool
it was so much *fun*
(well everyone but kelly and ben)

This is a little closer picture of her aqua armor

my dad even came over =)
i can count on one hand (in my 26 years of life) the times my dad
has been in my grandmas pool!! we were so glad he came over, the grandkids
were SUPER excited!!
i am pretty sure that the BIG boys have more fun then the little boys!!
**
it's a good think our kids get along because their daddy have become quite the
the buddies lately.. i'm just glad brett has a gym buddy =)
**
what a blessed evening ~ i have been given way more than i deserve, and cherish
my many blessings (even my brother-in-law)

He's a Pro!

It's hard to believe that summer almost over, and we only have one more
T-Ball game! (secretly it will be nice to have our Saturday mornings back)
Cadence waiting for game time
Curtis is explaining to that group of girls that, that base is called Third..
*it was cute*

Not sure when this beautiful child that I so earnestly prayed for went from "little"
to "BIG" boy?!?!
~so handsome~
Cadence is never bored

Welcome!

I finally got Kristin into our "Blog World" check her out!!

Say Cheese

Who needs two good arms??

Cast Day

Thursday July 8, 2010 we went to get Cadence's hard cast put on.
I was expecting crying... Not expecting the fight she put up.
An experience I don't wish to relive, and have since felt guilty for not taking
the option of going to a pediatric surgeon to have it set and casted. I was thinking
that would just be one more bill, and one more day off work (kinda of selfish)
LONG story short... Two casts and an hour later we have a *not so pretty* green cast!
But we do have a Healing arm and that is what is important
After our not so good day we needed to find something "fun" to do... So
We decided to walk down and find Bill and Donna's

Just what the "doctor" ordered
We Love Bill and Donna (and their horses)

Of course riding back is way funner than walking!

First we stopped and fed the fish..

**
Thankful for such wonderful neighbors!
And that Thursday is OVER!
