About Me

My photo
Goddard, KS, United States
I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

Fishing!

Saturday evening Kristin and Brett invited us to go fishing with them at Brett's Uncle House.
This was right up Curt's alley, he is such a boy =)
His *favorite* part... picking up the minnows!
Not so much Lucas' favorite!

**
Uncle Brett won the prize for coolest, when he caught the first fish!!

Waiting on another fish....

This is Curt's 3rd time to go fishing and he has *never* caught a fish....

Until NOW! He was SO EXCITED!!

He helped Uncle Brett pull it off and then he threw it back!

Then Brett's Uncle Vern took them for a ride on the golf cart.. Very Cool when you're three!
**
Cadence acted slightly confused when it came to Brett's Uncle, because there is a STRONG
resemblance between Brett's uncle and his Dad.. it was cute!
**
We had a very nice evening, and are excited for more fishing in the future.. Well Curtis is ;)

Summer, Swimming and Sunburns

YAY~ My Grandma Winsor finally has her pool open!!
Excited was an understatement!!
Cadie started out in a floaty suit my Grandma bought her, but it was too big
and kept coming up around her nose. So we had to switch to the
regular suit.
She would much rather float around then actually take a chance of getting her hair wet =)

Our THREE Buzz Light Years counting down from 5 to BLAST-OFF!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I LET MY BABIES SUNBURN!!
They both had on 70 sun screen, but I didn't think to reapply it and we
where there for almost 3 hours.
**
Although they were super brave..
I on the other hand I AM NOT!!
I had already burned so I didn't think I would again...
Wrong!

**
While the Bretts went to work out we had a movie night..
Nothing fixes a sunburn like popcorn and Toy Story 2!

Cadie looks confused as to why she was placed so far away
from everyone elses popcorn...
*It seems I have bred a thief*

**Great Thursday** Wonderful way to start my 10 day break!!

A Unexpected Passion

Among the many hats I wear one of my proudest has to be Educator, "Special Education Educator" to be exact. While I am not legally licensed yet, I am so very close and love going to work. This summer has been wonderfully humbling for me. I am learning way more from my kiddo then he is from me. Two months ago if asked what I was aiming for I would have said Vision, without hesitation. This is still a very great possibility; however my heart is being softened for the wonderful world of Autism. Especially after today: Upon getting my kiddo off of the bus I knew it was going to be a rough morning, but didn't know how bad. I have a new bite mark and a pretty good shiner yet, have fallen in love with this child. Holding him on the floor today while he was crying it was brought to our attention that his meds had been changed, and they were trying something different. He couldn't help any of this!! This beautiful child has things going on inside of him that I can't begin to understand, and it doesn't seem fair!! I want to badly to help him, and when we finally are able to see a little bit of "T" coming through the autism he is awesome!! I want to help him. understand him, and in a way fix him! This may be wrong of me because the truth is he ISN'T broken, and in our wonderful little structured world he is "Normal". So where do I go from here? I just keep trucking through autism and loving them in spite of what the rest of the world thinks. As for now I am keeping my options open and waiting to see what the Lord puts in my path in the year to come. After work today our Autism Specialist (who doesn't hand out complements very often) told me that I was wonderful with "T" today, and hoped I would keep an open mind for structured learning. Who'd of ever thought I couldn't possibly be an Autism Teacher?!?!

Father's Day

We had a Wonderful Father's Day!!
Mainly because we have such a *wonderful* Daddy!
After Church we had lunch with Brett's parents
She has him wrapped around her little finger TIGHTLY!

I am still in awe sometimes that those cute kids are mine!!
**
Sunday evening my family came over for hot dogs, ultimate Frisbee, and swimming BUT
my camera died so I didn't get any pictures ;(
**
Fun Father's Day

Bragging a Little

Nice to know my hard work is paying off!!

Do Pugs Swim?

Hot Day, Hot Dog,
Cool Swimming Pool....
Seemed like a No-Brainer!
Good idea?! Not so much!
Eddie freaked out =) Seriously! Emma loved it, but Eddie however
did NOT! He wouldn't even let me pet him the rest of the evening!

BUNCO

I don't just like going to Bunco
I *love* going to Bunco!
Such a fun group of ladies!
I am so glad I let Angie talk me into getting out of my
introvert box =) *love the 3rd Thursday of the Month*

Mother/Daughter Slumber Party!
