About Me

I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

Just Like Curtis!

Cadence has decided she HAS to do everything that her brother does. I can't even imagine what our world will be like next summer when she is walking and running everywhere. For the most part Curtis is alright with her tagging along. The other night he started reading (reciting) to her. I can't hardly get her to take a bottle any longer she just wants a sippy, which I am thinking I am going to call the doctor and make sure that it's fine that she isn't wanting a bottle any longer!!?? Of course this is all because BIG BROTHER has a sippy!! Oh well I guess it is MUCH better then big brother wanting a bottle! :) She also climbs the stairs now, and of course every time I have caught her going up them she is following Curt!

Out for a Walk/Ride!

Last night we let Curtis drive McQueen to my Mom's house. She is only about a mile down the street. :) He did really really well. Brett and I were discussing how much he has grown-up over the summer, and how we wouldn't have attempted this at the beginning of the summer! He stopped when Brett told him to and stayed on the side we asked him to. Like always Cadie just get joy out of watching Curtis do anything!

** Also last night after Cadie was in bed, ok Curt was too but got up to go potty, he climbed in bed with Brett and I to say 'Goodnight' again. We let him stay and visit for a little while, so we could explain the changes coming in the next couple of weeks. We explained that soon Mommy would have to go back to school/work full time and he would get to go back to Grandma Carol's house all day. With excitement he looks at Brett and says, "Do I get to drive McQueen?" :) Brett just smiled and told him no that Daddy would take him!

Happy Birthday Grandma Carol!

Tonight we had my Mom's Birthday Fiesta! We had a really nice time, but whenever we are all together it's 'normally' lots of FUN! We decided to set it up in my front yard because that is where the breeze was! I made taco meat (Angie and Amy's recipe...Yum) with shells and all the sides while Brett Rohlman brought cheese dip. Everything was so good, but the best part was when Lucas, Curtis, Levi and Cadie did the macarana for my Mom! **well kinda** Their intentions were good and their hearts in the right place, but it was hilarious to watch! After dinner and dancing it was time for the best part Jello Cake! Okay well the boys had a cupcake because they aren't counting points :) We had a very nice evening, and are so very Thankful that my Grandma Peeka came out to celebrate with us!

Sticker Chart

Who knew that a sticker would be SOOO motivating! Holy Cow his room and everything is getting done much quicker for a sticker! My main motivation for the sticker chart was so he would start putting his underwear on by himself. Thinking every time he did he would get sticker but man if it works for everything else also! I hope the newness doesn't ware off, but don't foresee that he is pretty excited! Think we may have to make one for Grandma Carol's house in Aug.

Rescue Racer and Cadie

So here I sit, outside with Curtis and Cadie while Brett is working an extra late shift this week and next. It is amazing to me how much sheer joy Cadence gets out of just watching Curtis. I was mistakenly calling him McQueen to which he corrected, he is "Rescue Racer" he is just driving McQueen :) They are SO MUCH FUN! I hate that Brett misses out on so much being on a later shift.. but not much longer :) We were so happy to find out this week that Brett will be moving to a normal shift in 2-3 weeks.... I AM SOOO EXCITED! For the fist time since we've been married we will all sit down during the week and eat dinner together! With Brett changing shift and me returning to WSU 15 hrs and working part time about 15hrs our lives are fixing to shift. So it is nice to take time to just sit and watch my babies, although they aren't so much 'baby' anymore!

ZOO!

Yesterday was the PERFECT day for the zoo! Well other than a little bit of rain :) We packed a lunch and a blanket, for a picnic, and headed to the zoo. Curtis of course still LOVES the zoo, and would just live there if I would let him! This was Cadies second trip to the zoo and the first time she was not a fan! Although it must have been the age and or the heat because this time she loved it. Never once fussed to get out of the stroller. We ended up eating inside because of the rain, but it only lasted probably 20 min. and then we were off again! We had a great day, my kidos are at such a fun age!

Round Two!

I couldn't resist when I found these 12 month Thomas PJs that were Curts. I had to role them but she didn't seem to mind. She can even make Thomas look good!

Big Brother!

After baths last night we were just hanging out waiting for Daddy to get home. I was crawling over to Cadie, who was in the jumper, and telling her I was gonna get her. Curtis jumps in front of her and yells, " I'll save you Princess"! It was so cute and genuine, so I got him instead! :) He then proceeded to sit in front of her so I wouldn't get her! I am hoping that they grow to be great friends!

And I guess that playing HERO wore him out.. They were both asleep by 9:00! Which made Mommy a very happy lady!

Our night home with Daddy!

Friday night Daddy was on his own for the first time. I went to the Keith Urban concert with my sisters, and left Brett home to do bedtimes. Brett text me at 10:30 and both kids were in bed asleep. :) I think the evening was good for all of them, especially since Brett told me it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be!

p.s. Keith Urban was Really good, and I so enjoyed the evening out with my sisters!

Shower!

What did I ever do before I had babies? Life had to have been boring! :)

The 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! Family and Food, who could ask for more? We had a very nice 4th of July. Other than the whole firework thing! :) Just kidding! In case you don't know I am not really a fan of fireworks. But it would appear that I married a pyro and then produced a pyro offspring! Brett and Curtis LOVE fireworks! After dinner Cadie was able to come back home early from Grandma Winsor's house and play with Grandma and Grandpa Dyke and Aunt Taryn. While Brett and I played ultimate Frisbee. That game WHOOPED me! But still had a lot of fun. While Mommy and Daddy played Curtis, as always, was just happy to be with his cousins! We are so fortunate that all of our family, even extended, enjoy getting together. We had in-laws from almost everyone there, but you would have never known :) I think I notice the spot my Grandpa Peeka would fill more when we are at cookouts with everyone. He LOVED my Grandma Winsor's homemade cherry nut ice cream. And Grandpa if I didn't have a texture issue I would have had a bowl for you! ;)

Evening at Home!

To end our very busy day we decided to play outside! Cadie and Daddy took a nap (Brett says it was just Cadie :) I don't believe him) while Curtis and I went on a small Jog (Curt is stroller of course) We then went out to play ball. We had nice time outside and enjoyed just being HOME!

Happy Birthday Grandma Cindy!

Today we surprised Grandma Cindy at work for her birthday! Curt was just sure that she worked at a hospital, being that she is a nurse :) We had a nice visit and Curtis is already asking when we can go back! After that Curtis and Daddy went to buy fireworks.... Cadie and I sat in the car! Too HOT and not really our thing ;)
