About Me

My photo
Goddard, KS, United States
I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

My first Shiner!

I LOVE MY JOB!!

Now that we are finally getting a route, the paras are getting used to me and the changes, the boys are awesome.. I love my job!

I will be honest, it is a VERY physically demanding job. I will love it more next year when I am no longer pregnant! My paras are wonderful to help make sure that I am  not in the middle of major behaviors, however it must be the Mommy/Teacher in me that I still seem to be front runner!  A lot of it is that I want to model to my paras how I want certain behaviors handled. It is my job to teach my students to learn to control their bodies. On Monday I took a foot to the face! My student really did not intentionally kick me, I just happened to bend over in front of him at the wrong time! At least that is what I am choosing to believe Smile

This morning!

I love how fast moving my room is, our days fly by! It is so reward to be be a part of helping these students learn behavior management, communication skills, and body awareness!

Did I mention I love my job?!

Growing Baby Belly/Baby Waves!

With Curtis and Cadence I never did side pictures. If being honest it was probably because I you never really could see a difference. I worked so hard after Cadie and lost 75 pounds.. I am (I AM) ok with the fact that 35 pounds have went back on with this baby. I KNOW for a fact that I can and will take it all back off after Callie. Since this is my last baby I am trying really hard to just enjoy this pregnancy and to stop hating the way I look... I’m Pregnant and it’s OK!

Double Bump

Double Bump

My Cousin Jessica and I are both pregnant. Jessica is 39 weeks and we are 27 weeks! My sister threw us a small get together! I was a lot of fun, and so very appreciated!

My Girls!

Just saying that makes me smile!

IMAG0778

Ever since I can remember my Dad has give my sisters and I a rose on Valentine’s Day. The year Cadie was born my dad brought both of us one! Cadence loves this, and is starting to remember that "Papa Hank bring me flower, he love me" Smile

This year we all three received flowers!

Me, Cadence and Callie

Brett never cared what I named Curtis or Cadence. He was very passive and went with the flow. This time around he has been very vocal! I decided that if he could come up with a name I could live with, he could name her! After vetoing a few names Smile he came up with a name that we both like! In roughly 13 weeks Callie Joann Dyke should arrive, and I CAN NOT WAIT TO HOLD HER!

(We named Cadence LYNN, and Brett’s mom, Cindy Lynn. So we decided to name Callie JOANN after my mom, Carol Joann.)

What’s new?

Well...

I graduated college with honors

and am officially a licensed teacher!

I love my job! There are parts that I love more than others. I love the students, problem solving how to help their day run smoother, calmer. How to assist them with body awareness, and lessen behaviors and meltdowns! I will admit that some days I feel as though I took on too much being 27 weeks pregnant. However, I try everyday to remind myself that they do not understand that I pregnant, and that they are someones "curtis" (all I have is boys) Smile.

I am learning so much from them!

I do not enjoy managing 6 adult women!! However, I have been promised by many teacher friends that this does get easier the longer you do it. I have to do para evaluations before March 1st. I should probably start those soon! I must say that I have THREE WONDERFUL paras working in my room, and they are what keep my room going!!
