About Me

My photo
Goddard, KS, United States
I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

Happy Halloween!

DSC_0003

As always we were super busy this holiday. I was able to get away from work around 4:30 today and headed straight to pick the kids up and get them home to get ready.

DSC_0007

Our first stop was my Grandma Coslett’s house.

From there we went to have supper with Brett's family, and wait to meet up with Kristin and her family! We then went around my in-laws addition…

When we left there, we headed for Bill and Donna’s house, then finally Aunt Kelly’s house. Now my home is once again quiet and everyone is asleep!

My Aunt Ruby

Let me offer a little bit of "Winsor" background. We have always been very close with my
Dad’s family. I am the person I am today because of many life lessons I learned from them. The Winsor’s are unlike any other set of people I have ever met. They would give anyone the shirt off of their back, however if you lie, cheat, or cross one of them they are pretty much done with you. These are very smart and business savvy people. They are the exact opposite of shy, and have lived just about every life scenario you could offer to them. Overall they can be intimidating people, until you know them. EXCEPT for my Aunt Ruby. This is a woman who loves everyone, especially babies, with her entire heart. I can NEVER think of one time that my Aunt Rudy has hurt my feelings or made me cry. She is a smart, physically active and overall wonderful lady. She is the CPA for not only her husbands chiropractic clinic but for my Grandparents and Parents 5 companies. She does all of the family and company taxes. She is a very needed and relied on woman. So when satan decides to hit someone, it’s normally the strong one ;( Two years ago my Aunt Ruby was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went in for surgery, however the surgeon said they never received healthy tissue. Therefore cancer was floating around in her body and would find an organ to attach itself to. In January we learned that it has attached itself to her brain. This strong woman have fought with her once of strength she has. The beginning of the year she underwent brain surgery to have the tumor removed, and a port put into her brain.

In the past 4 weeks, she has lost all mobility below the neck. My Uncle Jerry is doing everything for her. She moves her, feeds her, and I’ve seen him love her like I’ve never seen one human love another. Hospice told us that her organs were beginning to shut down and they believed her time was short. My family is down in Oklahoma ALL OF THE TIME! I have only been able to go once, in the past 2 weeks. However there have need many people going broken hearted before our heavenly father asking for healing for this beautiful person. Many of the Winsor's are not saved, and I am praying for a miracle. That the Lord will restore her body and mind. Either way the Lord will answer our prayers, she will be healed here or in Heaven, but we really would like to see it here! Last week my Grandma called and said that the hospice nurses were very surprised that her organs seem to be starting to function a little better, and her legs didn’t seem so cold today! PRAISE THE LORD! I don’t know what he has planned for my sweet Aunt, but would you please join me in seeking healing for her. At 47 she still has so much life to live. And we are not ready to say good bye!

It’s Official...

Our home is growing by TWO FEET!

DSC_0632

I have waited to blog or Facebook until TODAY! This morning Brett and I saw Dr. Cline. I was super nervous, however trusting the Lord that no matter what we found out today I would be ok. I was not sick when pregnant with Curt or Cadie. I was vomit sick with our first pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage, that sweet little baby did not have a heartbeat and never fully formed. The past two weeks, I have been terribly sick in the late evening and night. Needless to say my imagination has gotten the worst of me a few times. It was after talking to my sweet friend Angie that I realized... what if?!?! What if this baby did not have a heartbeat this morning. I went through this entire scenario in my head, and the end result was that I would be ok. I would still be saved, I would still have a wonderful husband, and two beautiful children. (and that would mean three waiting for me in heaven, playing with my Grandpa) BUT God’s love is great, and he heard my longing for another baby and he answered, YES! This morning while sitting on the exam table waiting for Dr. Cline to come in I was filled with a many emotions (would have cried at the drop of a hat, six years ago I sat there expecting to see a heartbeat and there wasn’t one), however overall I had a sweet peace! And then happy tears when I saw the little light of this new babies HEARTBEATTING!! Give or take TWO WEEKS (and I really mean take, because my babies are always 2 weeks late) out sweet little baby will be here May 28th!!

A New Chapter!

Monday I had my first ever interview for a teaching position!! Today I received a call from the Coop offering me the middle school structured learning position in Maize. I am so excited to accept this super challenging room. I am however seeking prayer from my sweet friends. I knew that there were some "tuff" paras over there. However after talking to one of my para friends I am super fired up!! The paras in this room actually admitted that they were sabotaging the teacher who was there! I am now praying that in the next few months I can grow a backbone Winking smile I not only think I can, but I know I can! Because I am in this for the children, and the children alone! I have worked as a para for the past 5 years, I know what an important part of a room they are! I have so many wonderful friends who are structured learning teachers, and know that if I utilize these resources I will do just fine. The Lord has opened to many doors for me, for this to not be the right place for me. It is just so frustrating to me that some people can be so nasty!!
