About Me

I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

Walking for Ruby!

Last Saturday was the Race for the Cure (breast cancer) walk at Town East Mall. We decided to form a team in CELEBRATION of my Aunt Ruby! We had a blast :) I just love having a daughter, the pink bows, pink clothes, okay really just anything pink!! So what a better cause for Cadie and I then the Komen Race. I couldn't believe how Cadie sat on Kylie's lap and let the man paint a pink ribbon on her cheek! Can't wait, we will for sure sign up and do it again! Hopefully next year Ruby will be able to be in town and walk with us.... She is the REASON we did it!

Curtis Turns 3

September 7, 2009 Curtis turned 3! When I say I can't believe I have a three year old, that is an understatement! I am learning things from him everyday. Such as they are "underwear" NOT "panties", and the dog can in fact survive a 6 stair "jump"! My faith and patients are tested daily, however I couldn't live without him. I can still remember praying with Brett the night before we went in for induction with Curtis! Wow God has been so good to us!

We had Curt's birthday party at our house this year, and through Brett's work we were able to get a really good deal on a moonwalk! I made Curt's birthday cake this year (my first cake EVER). I normally ask a really good friend of mine, but knew she was already doing a wedding cake that same weekend. Curtis had been asking for a lizard for a very long time. And believe it or not Mom finally caved. Jason put us together a super nice cage, and I guess the lizard is alright too. It is totally worth it every night when I hear Curt belly laughing over Iggy!

"I just love him Mom"

Catch Up!

I feel so 'Unplugged' from my blog! We are all still here and doing great. I can't believe I haven't posted Curt's Birthday! I will.. if nothing else for my own enjoyment ;) I (literally) pray every night when I go to bed that the 4 to 6 hours of sleep I am about to get will be enough to sustain me through my next day... And God is good because so far I am making it! Other than kind of tired I have no complaints. We are having a blast with Curtis and Cadie they are at such a fun age.. We took them to the fair a couple weekends ago! CURTIS LOVED IT! Unfortunately the fair didn't love him. Sunday morning when I went to get him for church he was covered in hives. I was actually terrified he looked so bad, and he itched terribly. So Curtis and Mommy spend the next 3 1/2 hours in the emergency room. Five days on a steroid and he was good as new!

Hide-and-seek!

Thursday evenings Brett goes and shoots archery with his Dad. So it's just me and the kids. I try and find things for us to do to pass our evening in a somewhat productive way. After a walk to Grandma Carol's I had to sit down and do some reading for school. After getting Cadie down for the night I sat down with my book to begin my marathon of reading. When Curtis asks me if I will play hide and seek with him. I told him I would come and find him two times but then I had to do homework. Which I did, remember that I DID find him twice ;) Afterwards he continued to ask me to play, in which I said ok go hide. Well I turned the monitor on so I could hear him hiding in his room. I did hear him say,"Ok I'm ready come find me!" I heard him say it I think three times while I was reading. The next thing I know it's an hour later (Oh NO) I fell asleep reading and obviously Curtis fell asleep hiding. I looked everywhere for that kid. In his room, and mine. Through my closet and his, and I even crept into Cadies room looking for him. FINALLY under the train table I see feet! (Thankfully because I really didn't want to call Brett and explain I couldn't find Curtis) Of course he wasn't very happy when I woke him up, but everything is solved with some time playing in the bathtub! (And no I didn't remind him that I was supposed to be finding him... SHHH)

Catch Up!

Ok let me catch up....Summer is over and work and school have begun again! I am taking 15 hours at WSU and working 17.5 hours for the coop! And will begin my teaching blocks in January.. YEA! Still going to 5:30 jazzercise and trying to be the best mom I can be in the evening.. Although we have had some L O N G evening the first couple of weeks, but seem to be getting into a routine again. Cadie is now saying 'MAMA' and it is beautiful, even when she is crying and says it! :) She pulls to stand on everything, and has more bruises than I can even begin to count. However I can't believe how tough she is, and very rarely cries. Curtis is so incredibly smart! And I am not just saying that cause I'm Mommy! ;) (okay maybe a little is just because I am Mommy) The other evening he was out on the front porch playing with his sandbox and sidewalk chalk, while I made dinner. I hear him yelling for me to come and look, not giving it much attention I told him to wait just a minute. When I hear, "H-I...H-I.... I build a word HI" Ok so he got my attention and sure enough he spelled HI in chalk. I took a picture with my phone and sent it to Brett with the caption, 'I didn't know he could do that'. To which Brett replies, 'I didn't either' :)
