Consuming..

These are the books, which have been consuming my world for the past 8 weeks.. only 4 MORE WEEKS!

I want nothing more than to be a teacher.. a SPED teacher to be exact. I have no desire to be a general education teacher.. and so I keep chugging along. The end is getting so close. I will student teach in August. It sounds like the I will have some position in special education when I graduate in December. At this time I will work as a waiver teacher while I work on my Masters. Which I will not take as quickly as I have my bachelors. I would be happiest with Life Skills (I love love those very special children) would be alright if they put me in Structured Learning (autism, also a great group of kids).. but only time will tell. So for now this over planner has to learn to Fully Rely on God.. He has brought me a long way, but isn’t done yet!

Will you play babies with me?!?!

Cadence is ALWAYS asking me to play babies with her. I realized the other night I always tell her in a minute- then in a minute never seems to happen. So the other night I put homework down and we went and played babies. SHE IS SO MUCH FUN!

Just wanted to remember how much fun it is to play babies!

A New Look

Wednesday I took Cadence for her *first* haircut..

Surprisingly she did really well!

She got bangs and we cut off the dead-ends..

I’m sure following Curtis helped!

When we go to Conway for haircuts we always have to go to the park before we head home.. they have a pretty cool train, which Curtis loves!

We are SOOO ready for spring!!

Magladon

Yesterday we took Curtis and Cadence to Exploration Place to see Magladon.. and it was a little disappointing. Curtis really enjoyed it, but Brett and I we not as impressed. (Oh well it was still a family day, which is the best)

Good Family Saturday!! Enjoy my little family so much! And then..

I got some *Lexi Love*.. Love her so much!!

And we celebrated Ben’s Birthday!

Full day.. I was even able to get two midterms and a paper written.. FIVE MORE WEEKS!! Then classes are done and all I have is student-teaching

Valentine’s Day 2011

I am so *loving* having older kids..we have so much fun!

Cadence decided to wear her Tu-Tu to church on Valentine’s Day! She is becoming such a girl!

 

After church we always go to Brett’s parents house for lunch. Grandma Cindy had little valentine for Curtis and Cadie!!

Then Papa Hank brought Cadence and I roses!! My Dad gets us flowers every year, this year Cadie was pretty excited! (see she is so much fun)

Then we went back to New Foundation for dinner and games! Curtis and Cadie played with the youth group!

The next day Curtis and I got his Valentine’s ready for school.. (see more fun)! We then made a Pink Valentines Cake, per Cadie’s request..this is because she LOVES LOVES Pinkalicious

Sickness and Sleep-Walking

 

We received a letter over a month ago that 5th Disease was going around the pre-school (yuck) I googled to try and find out more. According to google, and the letter from the pre-school children will run a fever for about a week and then break out in an entire body rash. Once the rash comes out they are no longer contagious!

When I left for work on Monday morning Curtis looked normal.When I picked him up after work, he looked like this (what?!?!). This child never ran a fever and never felt bad. Cadie ran a fever for almost 2 full weeks and had a cough. She broke out in a few spots on her cheeks and they only lasted for a few days. Curt’s spots are getting a deeper red and are everywhere! I did call the doctors office and they said that the rash normally lasts 3-5 weeks.. UGGGG!

Cutis has always been a sleep walker. He has went through different types of sleep-walking. There was a time when we would find him in different places of the house (normally on the couch). Then we went through a time of night-terrors. This was terrible. Curtis would wake up screaming and crying. Brett and I would never really be able to get him awake, and he never fully made eye contact with us. Luckily this has seemed to end. However the other night we couldn’t find him.. I always panic just a little when I see his door open and his room empty.. This is where we found him..

We had gotten up and put himself in Cadie’s bed?!?! This would be why my 4-year-old still has a monitor =) That way we can hear his door open, most of the time!

As my home transforms from baby mode to big kid mode I see a wonderful friendship emerging between my two children! Don’t get me wrong, there is fighting, but there is way more

playing, loving, laughing and sharing!

Play-Dough never gets old! Every evening while I am making dinner we pull out the play-dough!

They play hide-and-seek a lot!! Cadie counts beautifully!

Although she does not quite understand the game, in its entirety. After she finds Curtis and it is his time to count she always hides in the exact same spot that she just found him?!?!?! Curtis is a good sport and pretends to look for her, most of the time!
