I am one of the fortunate few who married my very bestfriend! Brett and I started dating when I was a sophmore in highschool, and have been together ever since! So I don't know life without Brett in it, and I wouldn't want to. He has given me so many wonderful things over our 14 years together. However the most precious are our children. I am making this blog for them. One day hopefully they will be able to get some of the joy back they have given to me by reading this!

My FIRST Easter Sun Run!

Two miles was a VERY big deal for me...
I have been running two miles at the YMCA in about 23-26 minutes.
So that is where I was hoping to come close to....
We hoped to get there in time to watch Pam and Jared cross the finish
line from the 10K race which started at 9:00, but at 10:00 they were
lining up the 2 miles people so.. off I went.
I had no clue that Pam was running the 2 mile just a little
bit behind me, I really WISH I'd known she was back there.
She didn't catch me because she was looking for me behind her
Remember my best time at the Y was 22.54 min.
I was so shocked when I came around the corner and could
see the time clock....

19.42 MINUTES...

I was still unaware that Pam was running behind me so we went
and let Curtis get his face painted while we looked for the Martins.
I knew they were there because I hear Jared cheering me on as I approached
the Finish line... Thanks Jared ;)

We Finally Found them!

Me, Pam and Jared!!
Pam ran both races!! And Jared did awesome in the 6 Mile! (I can't imagine running
for an hour straight, someone would have to be chasing me ;))

The man running in front of me had this on the back of his shirt,
"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me"
Philippians 14:3
I don't believe that man was put in front of me by change...
THANKS SO MUCH Pam for believe and encouraging me!
I can't wait for the next one, I will keep running so my time will improve!

  1. Wow! Good job! I did the River Run 2-mile last year... that was my first race. It's such an awesome accomplishment. Sign up for a 5K and then a 10K next... I did a 5K in September and a 10K in October and it was GREAT to say I did it. You can do it!! :)

  3. That is awesome! I am proud of you. I cannot imagine me ever running...but I am trying to get into better shape. And since I see you, Pam, and Shelley on Wednesdays, I may have to try it someday? Great job! :)
