Independence Day 2012

I did not do well taking pictures this year.. however I with Callie’s reflux and colic on the up swing I am beginning to join the land of the living once again!

Back in December Brett and Curt were watching Myth Busters and they built a potato cannon. Curtis fell IN LOVE with this, and asked Brett if they could build one. Brett told him for the 4th of July that they would... well Curt remembered!

So here is their potato cannon! Curt thought his Daddy was pretty cool! (Brett thought he was pretty cool as well!!)

Callie actually slept through the fireworks!! This is a child that if one of us breaths too loud she is awake screaming, but had no problem with the fireworks?!?!

I Love Him..

My husband, that is!

He has been wonderful. Every evening he has taken Curt and Cadie to the pool after work. While he says he isn't a baby person, he does look pretty cute with a baby!

COLIC

Is a killer!

For the past 4 weeks if Callie wasn’t nursing or cat-napping she was screaming. The only thing that would calm her was nursing or standing/bouncing outside!! I try to not complain as I prayed so hard for this new little miracle.

I would NOT HAVE MADE IT though the past four weeks without my older sister Kristin. My mom had back surgery a few weeks after Callie was born, and has been recovering beautifully but unable to help much with Callie. She has however been wonderful to allow my older two to come and play.

PRAISE THE LORD - that Callie is starting to show improvements. A friend of mine told me about Levsin drops for Colic. Actually it is a powerful gas drop and has been a LIFE SAVER! While my sweet girl is still having a lot of gas pain and fussiness, but is able to pass a lot of the gas problems. She has also not been gaining weight. We are still going in for weight checks about every 3rd day. However, when in yesterday she is finally back up to birth weight YAY! This is due to the fact that the Zantac she is taking is starting to work and she is throwing up less and less every day. Curtis was on a medicine for acid reflex when he was younger as well, thankfully he grew out of it!

SHE’S HERE!!

This is my SIXTH attempt to blog about Callie’s birth! Here’s hoping to get it finished. Three kids has been a *wonderful learning curve*.

Sunday June 3rd I woke up around 3:00am and was pretty sure that labor was starting.My contractions were not regular, however they were beginning to become more intense. By 5:00 Sunday evening I decided to go ahead and go to Wesley and see what was happening. My contractions where 3-5 minutes apart and I was dilated to 5 1/2. However, the nurse there decided to send me home since I had only changed a half since being there for two hours, and I was seeing Dr. Cline the next morning. She told me that I would more than likely be back! (then why not keep me!!!) AND THEY SENT ME HOME. I labored pretty hard at home from midnight to 3:00am at home Monday morning. I decided to just keep my 9:40 doctors appointment with Dr. Cline and not go back to Wesley. When getting ready for my doctors appoitment I am pretty sure that my water broke and I had a "bloody show", however I had to get Curt and Cadie taken care of before leaving. I got the three of us ready, went and picked up my mom and dropped Curt and Cadie off at Aunt Kristin’s house. When I got to Dr. Cline’s office he was not there, he was gone delivering a baby. They offered for me to see his PA, and I started crying. The receptionist called for Dr. Cline’s nurse and she had me come back. I explained about going to Wesley, and she was very surprised that I was sent home, and explained about the blood I had experienced this morning! She told me to go back over, and I replied, "No, they will just send me home!". Christie put me in a room and told me to just wait on Dr. Cline that he would be back soon. She was not gone long and came back in and told me that Dr. Cline was waiting for me at Wesley and wanted me to come over there and get checked in. Upon getting checked in Dr. Cline came in within 3 minutes of getting in a gown to check me. I was at an 8 and my water and ruptured. He was also not very pleased that I was send home the previous evening. I guess it is because I do have such a high tolerance for pain, and did not act as though I was "dying"!! However, I was not too sure that I wasn’t when all all fours in my living room Monday morning!! I forgot how intense contractions are!

Within 45 minutes I was given a very low dose of Pitocin to get my contractions going again, and within a few hours my sweet little angel was here! Once again I only had to push through 2 contractions. I had such a wonderful experience with Callie’s birth. Of the three this is the one that I will remember the most, as I felt the most of this one!  

Callie was born at 3:19, June 4,2012. She weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 inches long!

I was able to hold her for an hour after she was born - Wesley does skin-to-skin for the first hour after delivery. I was able to change my cloths before leaving recovery.

Curt and Cadie were able to come up just moments after we were able to get in our room.

Memorial Day 2012

Sunday after church we went with my Mother-In-Law to Sedgwick to take flowers to Brett’s Grandparents and Uncle.

Cadence and I went with my Mom to Maize (later that evening) to leave flowers for my Sweet Aunt Ruby! - still miss her bunches!!

Our last stop was Resthaven to love on my Grandpa Coslett. I have been to this spot MANY MANY times, and it is true that time does heal pain. Yet I sure could use a Grandpa hug, and sure do with that he was going to get to meet my sweet little Callie (this side of Heaven)! 

Thankful for the legacy he built and left for my family, still miss him lots!

This and That..

Our summer break has consisted of our FIRST lost tooth!! This was SUPER exciting. Curt had been "babying" this tooth for 2-3 weeks. Mom decided that it needed to come out! I put some origel on it and out it came. He was super brave! 

We have been able to go to the pool 3 times since starting our summer break (and before Callie comes). However, it has been too cold the past few days so we have made a lot of "art projects".

Old Wise Tales - Seriously do not work!! I have made a peace that my little princess will come when SHE is ready not me. We have WALKED AND WALKED AND WALKED AND WALKED! Which wasn’t that different then when I was working. I stood a lot but didn’t have so much constant walking. So we have walked at least 2 miles a day since my due date.. nothing!! Brett found some youtube videos that are supposed to tell you where to rub to induce labor. We have done this almost every night for a few weeks and NOTHING! However, this I am not complaining about the leg and shoulder rubs have been super nice!
